Judy Street took one of the most unique paths in all of college athletics. Coming from Tennessee, where she won the Nashville Women’s Open at just 13, all the way down to the University of Miami in the 1950s and winning back-to-back Southern Amateur Championships, she led the US Curtis Cup Team to a win over England in 1960. She then took a lengthy absence from college before returning to Barry in 2001-02 to join the Buccaneers’ fledgling women’s golf program. Competing as a 62-year-old, she became the oldest student-athlete to compete in an NCAA championship, leading the Bucs to a second-place finish at the NCAA Championship, and placing eighth individually, their highest finisher. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Barry’s school of Professional and Career Education, earning Scholar All-America honors from the Women’s Golf Coaches Association.
