Having spent over 30 years as the guiding force in Buccaneer tennis, Dr. George Samuel retired in 2021 after leading the men’s and women’s tennis teams to an 896-261 record, earning Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year more than any individual: 17 times on the men’s side and four on the women’s side. He won 24 SSC Championships and set an NCAA record by coaching in the national championship match 13 times, winning five titles. He coached 58 men's tennis All-Americans and 24 more on the women's side. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association bestowed regional coach of the year honors nine times, including eight with the men, and national coach of the year for men in 1999 and 2013. He joins 10 of his former players on the Wall of Honor.
