Box Score 2 FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA — The Barry University men's volleyball team dropped a double-header from the Shaw Athletic Center in Franklin Springs on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED (EMMANUEL):
- Set One - Ryan Uridel and Colton Beres got the scoring started with a block on the first rally. Emmanuel gained a three-point lead at 8-5 before Barry countered with 7-1 run to the take a three-point lead of their own. It was a tight set the rest of the way until Barry closed it out with three straight points off Lion errors. | Barry 25, Emmanuel 20
- Set Two - Emmanuel held he lead early and throughout the set. Barry only put together multi-point runs four times in the set. The Lions hit .250 in the set while the Bucs hit .043. | Emmanuel 25, Barry 18
- Set Three - It was a back and forth affair early, thought the Lions did put together three straight kills to take a 10-8 lead. The Bucs regained the lead with a mix of offense and defense as well as two ball handling errors by Emmanuel. Service errors would be detrimental to the ending of the set that had the Lions come back and take it and take a 2-1 match lead. | Emmanuel 25, Barry 23
- Set Four - Barry held the lead for a majority of the set until a 12-12 tie would reset the game. From there, the Lions had three 3-0 runs that would be the gaps they needed to close out the match. | Emmanuel 25, Barry 21
NOTEWORTHY:
- Tristan Blake added some versatility with a career-high three kills and topping 33 assists. It's the third 30+ assist match of the year for Blake.
- William Phinizy had a career-high 14 kills and also adding six digs.
- Bobby Clapp had his fourth double-digit digs match with 11.
- Barry held a 10-8 blocking edge at the net.

HOW IT HAPPENED (FORT VALLEY STATE):
- Set One - The match started with back to back 4-0 runs from each team to wipe the slate clean. From there on out I was a back and forth battle. FVSU held a one-point advantage throughout and ended the set on a 6-2 run to take it. FSVU hit .500 in the set with just two attacking errors and a one-kill advantage over Barry | FVSU 25, Barry 20
- Set Two - Barry's offense struggled with just five kills in the set and hitting .042. While FVSU had 15 kills and hit .360. The Wildcats led from start to finish. | FVSU 25, Barry 20
- Set Three - Set three saw some of Barry's cleanest offense as they had 10 kills while swinging .438. A kill from Ryan Uridel, followed by a block from Uridel and Colton Beres shifted the momentum onto the Bucs side. Service errors from FSVU down the line helped Barry close out the set. | Barry 25, FSVU 20
- Set Four - The momentum continued for Barry as they opened set four on a 3-0 run. They held that lead until a 4-0 run from the Wildcats had them take the lead at 11-10. Three straight errors from FSVU gave the Buccaneers the space they needed to hold off and win the set and force a winner take all fifth set. | Barry 26, FSVU 24
- Set Five - Fort Valley State got the first three points and then ran with momentum throughout the rest of the set and took the match. | FVSU 15, Barry 8
