MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The historic 2026 season has come to an end for the Barry Men's Volleyball as they fall in three sets to Catawba in the IVA Tournament Semifinals from the Health and Sports Center on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One – Catawba started off the match with the first point. The Indians then took a 703 and made it an uphill battle for the Bucs. Slowly but sure Barry was able to crawl back into it and make it a two-point set at 18-20. A 6-2 run though ended the set in favor of Catawba. The Bucs did have two blocks but that did not stop the Indian offense from hitting .579 in the set. Barry hit .318 with Zachary Jabr leading the way with five kills. | Catawba 25, Barry 21
- Set Two – An attack error by CC put Barry on the board first. However, the Indians came back and got a kill and two service aces to get the momentum back on their side. The Bucs dug themselves in a hole once again trailing by as much as seven in the set. Another strong effort had the Bucs within three points, but Catawba closed out the match with a kill and a block to take the match advantage to two sets. Jabr once again had five kills in the set. | Catawba 25, Barry 20
- Set Three – Positive signs started to show for the Buccaneers as they opened the set on a 5-1 run. Catawba scored four-straight to quickly tie it up at five-all. After trading a few points back and forth, it was all Indians who took a 6-0 run and rode it all the way to the end. Barry come close twice at 16-18 and 21-23 but couldn't rally. | Catawba 25, Barry 21
NOTEWORTHY:
- Jabr had five kills in each set to tie his career-high of 15 kills. He his .444 on the night.
- The Bucs led on the block 6-5.
- Aaron Martinez was the only other Buccaneer to have double-digit kills with 10, hitting .562.
- This is just the second time this season Barry has been swept.
