ORLANDO, Fla. – For the second week in a row and fourth time this season, Barry University freshman sensation, Valeriya Kozlova was named the Sunshine State Conference volleyball offensive player of the week, presented by Pollo Campero. This was based on the performance for the week of November 3-9. The Bucs have won six of the 10 offensive honors this year. Kozlova becomes just the fifth Buccaneer volleyball player to earn four or more weekly honors in the same season, just the second to do it offensively since the split of categories in 2005.
Valeriya Kozlova had another career week as a Buccaneer collecting 71 kills over a three match stretch. Her breakout performance was 36-kills in the five set match against Embry-Riddle for a new career-high. It is also tied for sixth most in program history for a five-set match, and 10th most overall in a match. Her 40 points in the match is sixth most in a match in program history. She then followed up with a 26-kill outing against Florida Tech the next day hitting .511 in the match with just three errors. On the week, she had a 5.92 kills per set average and 6.75 points per set average.
The Bucs will return home and take on top-ranked Tampa on Friday, November 14.
