TAMPA, Fla. — The 2025 season comes to an end for the third-ranked Barry University Women's Volleyball in the NCAA DII South Regional Final against the Tampa Spartans. The Buccaneers fell 3-0 in the Bob Martinez Athletic Center on Saturday evening. It is the second straight season the Bucs fall to Tampa in the final match and the third time in the last four years they have played each other in the regional.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One - Tampa took the first lead and held it until the Buccaneers came back and flipped the scoreboard at 7-6. Barry looked to be in the driver's seat holding a 19-14 lead, but the Spartans called timeout and turned it around the rest of the set. Tied at 23-all, a kill and Buccaneer setting error gave Tampa the match lead. The Buccaneers led in blocks 4-1, kllls 14-12, and had a better hitting percentage, but five service errors would be the difference maker. | Tampa 25, Barry 23
- Set Two - The Spartans once again led with the first point in the set and Barry rallied back to make it 7-6, identical to the first set. It was Barry that now trailed by as much a four late in the set and worked to turn it around. Facing set point, McKayla Thelus had a big kill, followed by a Petra Brkicic service ace, and a Ivana Zujovic kill that flipped the set and made it set point Bucs. After fighting off five set points, Tampa was able to string together the two-point stretch to win by deuce and take a 2-0 match lead. Six more service errors were the differentiator in the set. - Set Three - In the final set it was all Tampa from start to finish after a 7-3 start. Barry hit .065 in the set compared to the Spartans .500 on no attaacking errors to the Bucs eight. | Tampa 25, Barry 12
NOTEWORTHY:
- Valeriya Kozlova led the match with 17 kills and added two blocks.
- Varvara Osychenko had eight kills, nine digs, and three blocks.
- Barry led the match in blocks 7-6 despite not recording a block in the third set.
- Frankie Good led with four block assists.
