A 5-5 right-handed pitcher from North Providence, R.I., Barber joins the collegiate ranks after guiding Ponaganset High to the RIIL Division II Championship. She earned Third-Team All-State and First Team All-Division honors during the Chieftains State Championship run on top of All-Academic distinction after receiving First-Team All-Division recognition during her junior campaign.

“I decided on Barry University because of its Biology program with Pre-Med, which matches my ambitions in the medical field,” Barber said. “Joining the softball team at Barry was also a significant factor for me. I felt like I was part of a family within the team. The support I have seen from the girls reinforced my belief that Barry University not only emphasizes academic success but also values creating a supportive community where teamwork thrives. I'm confident this environment will improve my college journey both academically and athletically.

A 5-6 outfielder from Chandler, Ariz., Gant made an immediate impact for Casteel High and earned the Team MVP award following her freshman year. In 2023 she added Casteel’s Junior Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award to her trophy case.

“I chose Barry University because I felt that they chose me,” Gant said. “They started recruiting me at the end of my sophomore year and communication between myself and the coaches was consistent. I loved how vocal Barry was about wanting me to play for them and I fell in love with the team after going to various camps. Additionally, being in Miami takes me back to when I was younger and living in Homestead. Despite moving across the country, I’ve always loved Florida, whether it’s because of the beach, the weather, food, diversity, ect. Not to mention I have relatives who live in Florida so I won’t be out there on my own. After going on my visit, I knew Barry was for me because it checked all my boxes. The small class sizes allow me to be more attentive and involved and the campus is the perfect size for walking. Between the softball team and the academic environment, I knew Barry was for me!”

A 5-6 outfielder/catcher from Eau Gallie, Fla., Langlie joins the Bucs after graduating from Eau Gallie High. The All-Conference honoree boasted a .382 batting average in high school with a .500 on base percentage and 1.341 slugging percentage, advancing to the 4A FHSAA Championship all four years with a quarterfinal run during her senior campaign.

“I chose Barry U because immediately when I stepped on campus I felt as though I was home,” Langlie said. “It felt as though I was accepted into their family and everyone I met on campus welcomed me with a smile and warm greeting.

A 5-2 outfielder from Wyantskill, N.Y., Lucey comes to Barry from Averill Park High where she was a Suburban Council All-Star Selection in 2023 and 2024. Off the field, she was a three-time NYSHPAA Scholar Athlete.

“From the first time I stepped foot on Barry’s campus, I know it was exactly where I wanted to be,” Lucey said. “Going so far away from home was a big deal, and I needed to be somewhere where everyone felt like family. Barry has provided me with a home away from home atmosphere since day one and I could not be more grateful to spend my next four years as a part of the Barry University family.” 

Miller is the lone transfer in the list, coming from South Mountain CC in Arizona and Maryland-Eastern Shore. At SMCC, she batted .402 with four homers and 22 RBI in 28 games, earning Second-Team All-ACCAC and All-Region honors, while playing for former Barry assistant Kelley Montalvo. She spent her freshman year at Maryland-Eastern Shore.

“I chose Barry U because of the team's drive, passion, and love for the sport of softball,” Miller said. “This was an instrumental and key point in my decision making process, as well as being around people who are in the energy of gratitude, grace, and authenticity. I know the coaches will push us towards greatness this season and I can't wait to be a part of it!”

 A 5’9 right-handed pitcher from Cooper City, Fla., Nino joins the Books after prepping at Cooper City High. She guided the Cowboys to a pair of District Championships in 2022 and 2023, adding the BCAA title in 2022. She was twice recognized by the Miami Herald, garnering Honorable Mention distinction as a sophomore and Second-Team accolades as a senior.

“Growing up in Broward county I always wanted to stay close to home for college after attending a prospect camp where I fell in love with the coaching staff as well as the amazing players,” Nino said. “I knew Barry University would be my home for the next four years.”

A 5-3 Infielder/catcher from Sandy Hook, Conn., Pellicone powered Newton High to four CIAC Class LL Softball State Championship berths, advancing to the quarterfinals three times with one trip to the semifinals. She hit over .400 all four seasons, ending her high school career with Class LL Connecticut HS All-State honors.

“I chose Barry U because of the majors provided, the location, and great softball program along with the very talented players and coaching staff!” Pellicone said.

A 5-2 outfielder from Tampa, Fla., Prevatte comes to Barry from Sickles High where she was a two-time Second-Team All-Western Conference on top of garnering Gold Glove status twice.

“I chose Barry because of the amazing coaching staff and players and how they made me feel at home,” Prevatte said. “Another factor was the outstanding environment and strong academic programs that are offered. All around it was a perfect fit for me.”

A 5’7 first baseman/catcher from St. Augustine, Fla., Strub comes to Miami Shores from Bartram Trail High. During her four years with the Bears she was a three-time All-Area and All-County selection, adding All-State accolades her senior season.

“I chose Barry U because they believed and supported me pursuing ROTC on top of softball,” Strub said. The team is a family full of trust in one another. The coaches are so positive, understanding, and workable, which helped when trying to do ROTC as well. Overall, Barry U is a perfect fit for what I want to do in my further whether it’s softball or for my future career.”

A 5-5 outfielder from Lake Elsinore, Calif., Tucker comes to Barry after garnering Second Team All-Raincross League in back-to-back seasons. She guided Temescal Canyon High to a pair of League Championships while earning All-Academic accolades all four years.

“ I chose Barry because of the welcoming environment and the great academic and athletic opportunities it offers,” Tucker said. “I am excited about the opportunity to compete in one of the top D2 softball conferences.” 

A 5-3 infielder from Massapeaqua, N.Y., Vitale earned Scholar-Athlete status during her high school career at Massapequa High.

“I chose Barry because ultimately everything about the school was perfect and felt like home,” Vitale said. The nursing program and nurse anesthetist program was everything i was looking for. and from meeting the coaches and the girls on the team, I knew that i would be welcomed and treated like their sisters. my aunt lived in Florida my entire childhood but unfortunately passed away and it has always been my dream to be in Florida to be closer to her. being on the campus makes me feel like I’m at home even though my home is thousands of miles away. i know that Barry is going to be a place where i can grow and be successful.”
