VALDOSTA, Ga. & LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Sophomore outfielder Mya Tucker was named to the First-Team All-South Region squads by both the NFCA and the D2CCA.
The native of Lake Elsinore, Calif., led the Bucs in most offensive categories. It was a breakout season for the sophomore who led the SSC in hits with 71. Tucker led the team in hits, runs scored (50), triples (3), total bases (102), stolen bases (31) at bats (172), and slugging percentage (.593). She improved in every offensive category, most notably almost doubling her batting average to .413, while entering the top-10 in hits, total bases, and runs scored for a single season. She had an elite glove locking down the green with 121 putouts, second most on the team, and adding four assists with a perfect fielding percentage. The sophomore had the longest on base streak this season at 28-straight.
As a First-Team selection, Tucker moves on to the All-America ballot for the D2CCA.
