<font color="#000000" face="arial, sans-serif" size="3">MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Barry University softball team kicks off its 2024 campaign with six games over three days at the Flagler Invitational, starting on Friday, Feb. 2 at 1:30 pm against the host Saints followed by a 4 pm matchup against Catawba.<br />

Following the season-opening doubleheader, the Bucs take on Flagler and Catawba in back-to-back twinbills on Saturday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 4 with both starting at 11 am.<br />

Barry enters the new season following a 24-30 outing in 2023, going 10-20 in SSC action. The 2024 installment features 12 returners, including the Bucs' core pitching rotation from last season with <dfn><a href="https://gobarrybucs.com/sports/softball/roster/cassandra-lee/5578" rel="smarttag" rev="5578">
Cassandra Lee</a></dfn> ranking in the top-five of the SSC during the 2023 season for opposing batting average (.168, third), ERA (1.52, fifth) and strikeouts (89, fifth) while <dfn><a href="https://gobarrybucs.com/sports/softball/roster/maci-barnhart/5575" rel="smarttag" rev="5575">
Maci Barnhart</a></dfn> struck out a team-best 162 opponents which ranked second in the league and <dfn><a href="https://gobarrybucs.com/sports/softball/roster/haelee-angelico/5574" rel="smarttag" rev="5574">
Haelee Angelico</a></dfn> added 102 strikeouts that placed fourth. </font><br />

<font color="#000000" face="arial, sans-serif" size="3">Prior to the 2024 season, the Softball team became just the third team in Barry history and the first women's team to embark on an international trip when they went to Panama on Wednesday, Jan. 10.</font><br />

On The Horizon<br />
Following the Flagler Invitational, the Bucs head to Longwood for the Soldier Creek Tournament on Friday, Feb. 9 before kicking off the home portion of the schedule on Sunday, Feb. 11 with a doubleheader aganist Coloroda-Mines starting at 11 am.
