Coach Cotter Announces Early Signing Class for Softball

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - Barry University head softball coach Sean Cotter announces four members to his early signing class of 2027 for the Buccaneer program - Samantha Rosenberger (Beaver Falls, Pa./Team PA), Maggie Boyd (Thornton, N.H./RI Thunder), Jadyn Rogers (Jacksonville, Fla./Florida Select), and Alexis Martin (Lake Havasu, Ariz./Sidewinders).

"We feel we added four dynamic athletes in the early signing period," Coach Cotter said. "The class has a little bit of everything - pitching, hitting, and speed."

SAMANTHA ROSENBERGER

  • Hometown: Beaver Falls, PA
  • POS: LHP/1B
  • B/T: L/L
  • Travel Team: Team PA
  • Coach Cotter: "We hope Sam can make an immediate impact on a veteran pitching staff. We have been trying to get a LHP since my arrival in 2017! Plus velocity with several plus pitches. Winning personality."

MAGGIE BOYD

  • Hometown: Thornton, NH
  • POS: C/UTL
  • B/T: R/R
  • Travel Team: RI Thunder
  • Coach Cotter: "Maggie is a versatility kid, can play a bunch of spots, and we think she can impact the lineup with the bat.."

JADYN ROGERS

  • Hometown: Jacksonville, FL
  • POS: OF
  • B/T: L/L
  • Travel Team: Florida Select
  • Coach Cotter: "Adds speed and plus outfield play. In the end her personality separated her from others for our coaching staff."

ALEXIS MARTIN

  • Hometown: Lake Havasu, AZ
  • POS: RHP/1B
  • B/T: R/R
  • Travel Team: Sidewinders
  • Coach Cotter: "Plays for Barry U Alum Keri Thompson in HS. Will add power to our lineup immediately, and we think will add to our pitching staff in a unique way."

Coach Cotter's softball staff includes full-time assistant Holly Kathios and volunteer assistant Brigette Soza. The Buccaneers open their 2023 campaign at home in Miami Shores against West Florida on February 3.
