MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Friday night the skies cleared, and softball was played on a beautiful evening at Buccaneer Field in The Shores. Barry University hosted the eight-ranked Saint Leo Lions to start a three game Sunshine State Conference series. The Buccaneer fell in game one 8-0.
Prior to the game, the program celebrated senior Serah Shafer.

SUMMARY:
- Saint Leo scored in six of the seven innings of the contest. The three spot in the top of the second was the only inning a crooked number was put up. In the first three innings, the Buccaneers had a runner in scoring position but were unable to deliver the big hit to bring them home.
NOTEWORTHY:
- All four times the Buccaneers have been shutout they have only had three hits.
- Mya Tucker ended a 28-game reach base streak.
- Harper Bunn and Shelby Prevatte hold the longest streaks now at nine.
