ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Barry Softball opened their fourth Sunshine State Conference series against Eckerd at the Turley Athletic Complex. The Buccaneers dropped the series opener to the Triton on Friday evening.

SUMMARY:

• B1 - The Tritons came out and put up an eight spot in the first inning off seven hits and one Buccaneer errors kept the inning alive. | Eckerd 8, Barry 0
• B2 – Eckerd had another big inning in the second with six runs put up on five hits. A grand slam was the big blast in the inning. | Eckerd 14, Barry 0
• T3 – Barry put up a four spot in the top of the third as Mya Tucker had a two-RBI double that followed up with a two-RBI single from Sarah Langlie. That would be all the offense for the Bucs. | Eckerd 14, Barry 4
• B3 – The game was put out of range with a final two spot from the Tritons that kept the run rule in effect and with room to spare. | Eckerd 16, Barry 4

NOTEWORTHY:

• Barry had four hits all game with Harper Bunn and Vivian Billiard joining Tucker and Langlie.
• Haelee Angelico came in and kept the Tritons at bay with two innings of work allowing just two hits, no earned runs and collecting the only two strikeouts of the game.
