ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Barry softball team dropped the Sunshine State Conference series against Eckerd for the first time since 2020.

SUMMARY (GAME ONE):
- B1 - Eckerd took the lead first with an unearned run in the bottom half. | Eckerd 1, Barry 0
- T2 - The Buccaneers grabbed their first lead of the day with a three spot in top of the second. Cameron Marchese brought in the first run with a bases loaded RBI-single through the left side. Harper Bunn then delivered the two-run double to center to bring home Shelby Private and Maggie Boyd. | Barry 3, Eckerd 1
- B3 - The Tritons put up their first crooked number with a four spot in the third. Six hits and two free bases were contributors to the scoring and retaking of the lead. | Eckerd 5, Barry 3
- T4 - In the back and forth affair, the Bucs tied the game up at five-all in the top of the fourth. Serah Shafer drew the bases loaded walk for the first run. Mya Tucker was then hit by a pitch to bring in the tying run. | Barry 5, Eckerd 5
- T5 - Barry grabbed the lead back with a run in the top of the fifth. Boyd got the one-out bunt single with Private coming up right behind and delivering a double to right center to bring her home. | Barry 6, Eckerd 5
- B6 - The score changed for the final time in the bottom of the sixth as the Tritons scored three. With the bases loaded a double cleared them and proved to be the difference maker. | Eckerd 8, Barry 6
NOTEWORTHY (GAME ONE):
- Serah Shafer recorded her 200th collegiate career hit with her second hit of the game.
- Marchese collected the other multi-hit game for the Bucs.
- Eckerd narrowed out the hits at 9-8.
- There was a total of 13 free passes between both teams.
- Haelee Angelico came into relief and threw 2.1 inning giving up one earned run and one hit with two walks and two strikeouts.
SUMMARY (GAME TWO):
- T1 - The Bucs struck first as Bunn drew a leadoff walk, Shafer moved her over with a sac bunt, and Tucker drove her in with a double to right center. | Barry 1, Eckerd 0
- B1 - The Tritons evened it up in the bottom half in nearly the same fashion, except the sac bunt was an infield single. | Barry 1, Eckerd 1
- T2 - Barry regained the lead with two in the second. A fielding error with two-outs and the bases loaded drove in the runs. | Barry 3, Eckerd 1
- B4 - The final runs of the series came with a four spot in the fourth for EC. | Eckerd 5, Barry 3
NOTEWORTHY (GAME TWO):
- Samantha Rosenberger came out of the bullpen and had two score frames not allowing a hit and striking out three with just one base runner that reached on an intentional walk.
- The top of the order trio Bunn, Shafer, and Tucker earned the three hits.
