Softball Finishes Season With DH Against Eagles

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Buccaneers finished up the regular season against with a doubleheader against the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Saturday, Apr. 27. The Bucs dropped both games by a combined 3-21 margin.

SUMMARY:
Game One

  • B1 - The Eagles got off to a strong start, recording four hits in the opening frame, Vallee was able to get herself out of a tough situation when she forced the Eagles into a line-out to end the inning with the bases loaded. ERAU 4, Barry 0
  • B2 - Embry-Riddle kept up their offensive barrage, adding anther two runs, the latter of which came home on a double from Katy Thompson. ERAU 6, Barry 0
  • T3 - Karla Santiago got the Bucs on the board, recording her first career triple and then scoring off a ground-out from Courtney Chisholm. ERAU 6, Barry 1
  • B6 - The game ended due to the run-rule after Reanna Drayton cracked a three-run homer. ERAU 11, Barry 1

SUMMARY:
Game Two 

  • T1 - The Buccaneers recorded the first run of the game after Andrea Johnson knocked a hit over the head of the second baseman and Savannah Starling came home from second. The Bucs had an opportunity to pile more runs on but failed to convert after loading up the bases to end the inning.
  • B3 - Embry-Riddle scored three unearned runs in the inning after several runners advanced on a wild pitch.
  • B5 - The Bucs looked like they could turn around their fortunes in the fifth facing being run ruled. Lynsey Duncan drew a walk and scored two-at bats later with an RBI from Savannah Starling. The Bucs once again were able to load up the bases but couldn't capitalize on the opportunity.
