Baseball Plays In Last Home Series Of Season

The Bucs take on SSC rival Saint Leo in Final Home Series

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—A long season is drawing near to a close and Barry baseball heads into this weekend to play its last home series of the year as they take on SSC foe Saint Leo in a three-game series.

The Buccaneers will look to get a home series win against a Lions team that stands at 29-10 and 10-8 in the SSC, putting them two spots ahead of the Bucs.

To get a win, the Bucs will have to face a line that is expert in multi-base hits with six Lions having at least eight doubles. Sophomore infielder Troy Sieber leads in the team in homeruns with a noteworthy 12 and is tied for first in doubles with 11.

On the mound, Saint Leo will look to the likes of senior RHP Liam O'Sullivan, who leads the team in IP with 68.0 and strikeouts with 66. Junior RHP Michael Dunnigan has struck out 42 in 58.0 IP.

This series will also be a final sendoff for five Bucs as the program will be celebrating Senior Day on April 18th. Seniors Jesse Montalto, LK Thompson, Greg Brodzinksi, Will Walker and Adrian Benitez will be playing their last home series at Barry and they will be celebrated before the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.

However, before the Bucs can celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating players, they'll aim to get a win tonight against the Lions with first pitch slated for 6 pm.
