Baseball Swept By Spartans On Final Day

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers lost both ends of their Sunshine State Conference baseball doubleheader to the Tampa Spartans 9-5, and 10-4 at the Tampa Baseball Field on Friday.

  • Oscar Hernandez (1-1) ended up with the win when starter B.J. Bailey failed to go five innings. Hernandez held the Bucs to two hits in 3.1 innings and struck out three.
  • Mason Blocker (1-5) took the loss, allowing six runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks in 3.0 innings.
  • Santiago went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Zavier Hatfield added two hits.
  • Carlson drove in four for the Spartans.

  • John Luke Glanton (11-2) worked five scoreless innings, allowing four hits and two walks, to earn the win.
  • Flynn led the Bucs going 3-for-4 with two runs scored. 
  • Delapenha was 2-for-2 with a homer and three RBI.
  • Martinez and Irigoyen each went 3-for-4 for Tampa, with Martinez driving in three and Irigoyen scoring two and driving in two.
