ORLANDO -- The Sunshine State Conference named 39 student-athletes from ten member institutions to the All-Sunshine State Conference baseball team. Barry's Jalen Smith was named to the Second-Team at first base.
SSC Baseball All-Conference History: All-SSC Teams | Players & Coaches of the Year
Smith, a junior from Tampa, Fla., batted .333 on the season, with 19 doubles, 12 homers and 55 RBI. He led the league in total bases at 125, ranked sixth in slugging (.601) and fourth in RBI.
Sophomore center fielder Zavier Hatfield was named to the All-Defensive team. He compiled 133 putouts in the outfield, with five assists and just two errors.
All-conference selections and individual award winners are determined by a vote of Sunshine State Conference head coaches with oversight and approval from member institution Athletic Directors.
