Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Barry University softball team (29-18, 8-11 SSC) fell to the Eckerd College Tritons (14-34-1, 1-18 SSC) 2-1 in Sunshine State Conference play earlier tonight at Turley Field.
Amy Kilbert got the Tritons off to a solid start in the first inning with an RBI triple and later scored to give Eckerd an early 2-0 lead. That was all the Bucs could manage as the Tritons held on for the win.
Elizabeth Bennett (24-11) suffered the loss for Barry giving up two runs in seven innings on three hits, while striking out five. Kristina Lemon (13-17) picked up the win allowing just one run and struck out eight.
