Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The 12th-ranked Barry University softball team finished the second day of the Las Vegas Classic defeating Montana State-Billings 7-0 then later falling to Biola University 6-5.

Kim Fujimoto led the Bucs against Montana State-Billings (1-2) going 4 for 4 at the plate as the Bucs racked up 11 hits en route to a 7-0 victory. Rookie pitchers Elizabeth Bennett and Sarah Backe combined for a three hit shutout. Bennett (5-1) gave up one hit and struck out nine through five innings to earn the win for the Bucs, while Backe gave up two hits and struck out three to secure the shutout. Megan McCrae (0-2) suffered the loss for Montana State allowing seven runs on 11 hits.

Although Barry put up 14 hits in their second game, five errors proved to be fatal as the Bucs dropped the nighcap against Biola (2-1) 6-5. Heather Hodges and Amber Rodda each put up three hits to lead the Bucs, while Bennett suffered the loss giving up six runs (three earned) and striking out eight.

Rodda went 5 for 7 to lead and added an RBI to lead the Bucs, while Fujimoto and Keeney each added four hits. Keeney also led the Bucs with five RBI and added a homerun, while Delilah Stroup finished 3 for 8 with two homers and three RBI.

The Buccaneers will wrap up their Vegas tour on Saturday, Feb. 6 facing off with Minnesota State-Mankato at 12 noon followed by a single game with Longwood at 2 pm.
