Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 VALDOSTA, Ga.—The Barry Buccaneers completed the second day of the Super 8 Slugfest softball tournament undefeated, beating Alabama-Huntsville 2-0 and West Florida 2-1.

Barry (12-8) shut out the powerful Chargers in game one, handing them their first loss of the season. Elizabeth Bennett (10-5) earned the win with seven scoreless innings, scattering six hits and a walk while striking out four.

Erin Sutton accounted for both Barry runs, scoring on an RBI single by Delilah Stroup in the second inning and doubling home Krista Latessa in the fifth.

Lindsey Skinner (5-1) took the loss for the Chargers, allowing two runs on 10 hits and two walks in five innings of work. She struck out one. Jenny Hess tossed two scoreless innings in relief, striking out four.

In the nightcap, Barry's Amanda Moore provided the offense with two mammoth home runs, one in the fifth and one in the seventh.

Bennett again picked up the win, tossing a complete game and missing her second straight shutout by two outs when Tabitha Hairelson launched a solo homer with one out in the seventh. Overall, Bennett gave up five hits and three walks, while striking out eight.

Jackie Moore (8-2) took the loss for the Argonauts (12-5), despite allowing only four hits and striking out nine.

The Bucs close out the tournament at 9:00 am on Sunday when they face West Georgia.
