Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LAKELAND, Fla.--The Barry Buccaneers swept the Florida Southern Lady Moccasins 2-0 and 6-5 at Barnett Field on Sunday to clinch their first-ever outright Sunshine State Conference softball title.

The Buccaneers shared the conference title in 1991 and 1997 with the Mocs, but had never won the league outright.

In the first game, Geralyn Elam (27-4) tossed her third straight three-hit shutout to earn the win. She did not walk a batter and struckout five.

Sarah White provided the offense driving in both Buccaneers' runs.

Teri Morgan (9-15) took the loss for the Mocs, despite not giving up an earned run. She went the distance, allowing three hits and three walks and did not strikeout a batter.

In game two, the Bucs jumped out to a 6-1 lead and held on for a 6-5 win. White again was the offensive star, going four-for-four with three RBI. She tied a school record with a pair of solo homers.

Erin Cormier (9-4) earned the win with five innings work. She gave up eight hits and walked one while striking out three. Four of the five runs she allowed were unearned. Elam came back on to pitch the final two innings to earn her third save.

Alcira Adriatico (3-11) took the loss for the Mocs. She allowed five runs, three earned, in 3.2 innings. She gave up eight hits and two walks and did not strikeout a batter.

With the conference title in the bag, the Buccaneers become the first team to qualify for the NCAA South Regional by earning the SSC's automatic bid. The NCAA will release the rest of the field on May 5th.
