Box Score VALDOSTA, Ga.--The Barry Buccaneers had their six-game winning streak snapped by the Valdosta State Blazers at the Super 8 Slugfest in Valdosta, Ga., on Sunday.

The Blazers scored single runs in the fourth and sixth innings off Buccaneer starter Geralyn Elam (4-1), while Lindsay Ellingsworth (3-2) tossed a five-hit shutout for VSU.

Elam went the distance in her fifth straight start, allowing two earned runs on four hits and one walk, while striking out 10. It was her third straight game with double-figure strikeouts. Ellingsworth walked one and struck out nine.

Barry falls to 7-3, while Valdosta State improves to 9-7. The Buccaneers travel to the Lady Osprey Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla., Mar. 1-3.
