MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University head coach announces the addition of Kristupas Kepežinskas to the men's basketball team for the 2026-27 season.
"Kris comes from a country that lives and breathes basketball. Being from Kaunas, I know that hoops is part of who he is," head coach Justin Furr said. "Since our first interactions, I could tell that he loves basketball and is committed to being the best player he can be. Kris can play on or off the ball, but his true passion lies on the defensive end. He takes pride in being a tough, versatile defender and will bring that toughness to our program. Offensively, he has the ability to create for others and is a true coach on the floor. We are looking forward to bringing him to The Shores!"
A 6-0 guard, Kristupas spent this past season with NCAA Division I Rider University Broncs. Appeared in 17 games, with limited minutes, he averaged six points and 0.7 steals per 36 minutes.
Before Rider, Kepežinskas led Lithuania to a gold medal at the U17 World Championships. He averaged 11.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.3 steals per game while with the Lithuania U18 team on route to the U18 league title. Kepežinskas also represented Lithuania at the FIBA U18 European Championships.
"I wanted to be in a place where I feel valued and supported," Kepežinskas said. "After a tough year, it is important for me to be in an environment where people care about me not only as a basketball player, but also as a person. From the initial conversations with Coach Furr and the staff, I knew Barry was a place where I can grow, improve, and be part of a program that believes in me."
The Buccaneers are coming off a 17-13 record and a Sunshine State Conference Semifinals appearance.
