Head coach Justin Furr closed out his 2026-27 recruiting class with 6-4 guard Marvel Allen from Utah Tech. Allen was a four-star, consensus Top 150 recruit in the 2023 class (99 by Rivals.com).
"Marvel embodies several qualities we look for at Barry," Furr said. "He is a great teammate and values winning over personal success. He possesses a high level of competitive character, which allows him to give his best no matter the circumstances. He has experienced a ton of adversity in his career and has always came out stronger on the other side. He brings high-level playing experience on the high school and AAU circuit. We look forward to coaching Marvel and welcoming him to the 305!"
He was an outstanding player for Calvary Christian in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., leading the Eagles to back-to-back 4A state titles as a sophomore and junior. As a junior, he averaged 13.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game as Calvary went 26-2.
His prep career wrapped up in a senior season attending Montverde Academy near Orlando, where the Eagles finished second in the nation. He played alongside 2025 NBA first round selections Cooper Flagg (Duke), Derick Queen (Maryland), Asa Newell (Georgia) and Liam McNeeley (UConn).
Allen spent last year at Utah Tech and the two previous years at Dayton but has yet to take the court as a collegian.

The Buccaneers are coming off a 17-13 record and a Sunshine State Conference Semifinals appearance.
