MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Director of Volleyball Leonid Yelin announced the addition of transfer middle-hitterIndigo Pruitt.
Pruitt joins the Buccaneers after a stint at Barton Community College. The 6-4 middle totaled 121 blocks, averaging 0.90 blocks per set in her lone season as a Cougar. She added 260 kills, swinging a .416 clip on the offensive end. The Kansas-native is making the move to Miami Shores after leading BC to a 31-7 record, where they finished the season at the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Championship Tournament. Pruitt played in all 38 matches with Barton.
The Cougars made the program's 25th national tournament appearance and capped the season with a top-five national ranking, and back-to-back KJCCC and Region 6/Plains District championships.
"I chose Barry University because of its wonderful location and campus as well as the high levels of success in its athletics program," Pruitt said.
The Bucs will open up their season on August 27 against Central Missouri at the Sandy Hoffman Memorial Tournament in Waltham, Massachusetts from the Dana Center.
