Men's Basketball Adds Transfer Guard

Welcome-Julian Clarke

Men's Basketball | 7/2/2026 10:00:00 AM

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Men's basketball head coach Justin Furr announced the addition of guard Julian Clake to the roster for the 2026-27 season.

"Julian is the definition of a two-way player at the college level. He will help bolster our team speed and shot-making, as well as bring a welcomed presence on the defensive end," Furr said. "His ability to guard the ball will be as good as we have seen in my time at Barry. He was a Top-30 player in his prep class and played at one of the premier high schools in Florida at Lake Highland Prep for coach Ben Fratrik. His ability to create for others and score the ball when needed reminds us of what Deon [Perry] did for us this past season. We're excited to see him wear the Red and Black!"

A 6-1 guard who spent the past two seasons has a member of the NCAA Division I UNC-Asheville Bulldogs, Clarke primarily came off the bench, playing in 50 games. During his sophomore season he set a season-high 12 points in a 92-54 win against Bryan College.

Clarke is a three-point specialist that, despite limited minutes during 50 career games, shot 36 percent from beyond the arc. This past season the three-point shot improved up to 41 percent three-point percentage.

"I chose Barry because it gives me the opportunity to continue playing the game I love while earning my degree at a great university," Clarke said. "The coaching staff made me feel welcomed from the beginning, and I believe Barry is the best place for me to grow as a player and person. I'm excited to be part of the program and contribute to the team's success."

The Buccaneers are coming off a 17-13 record and a Sunshine State Conference Semifinals appearance.
