Four Bucs Named To The CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team

Two from men's golf and two from men's vollelyball

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers placed four on the At-Large Academic All-District® team this season.  Men's golfers Giorgio Celani and Daniel Vanososte as well as Bobby Clapp and Jeremy Ferreira from men's volleyball were all recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom. 

Celani, a junior from Rome, Italy, carries a 3.518 GPA in international business. He was ranked 68th by Scoreboard, with a 71.1 stroke average in 20 rounds this season. He had one top-10 finish, at the NSU Shark Invitational where he was 10th at three-under-par. His best performance against par came in the NCAA Regional, where he placed 11th at five-under-par.

Vanososte, a sophomore from Caracas, Venezuela, has compiled a 3.513 GPA in finance. He played 30 rounds this year, posting a 72.9 stroke average. His best finish was 11th at the Copperhead Championship, finished at +2. He finished one stroke over at both the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate and at the NCAA Regional.

Clapp*, a sophomore libero from Boynton Beach, Fla., has a 3.833 GPA in management. A First-Team Intercollegiate Volleyball Association pick at libero and the IVA Defensive Player of the Year, he led the IVA and ranked second in the NCAA in digs per set at 2.78. He holds the single-game, single-season and career records for digs with the program, which ust completed its second year. 

Ferreira, a junior middle hitter from Miami, Fla., carries a 3.56 GPA in advertising & public relations. He earned Second-Team All-IVA, averaging 1.2 kills per set and hitting .360. He was sixth in the league in blocks per set with 0.91 and was tied for the team lead with 73 total blocks.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competitions and in the classroom.

The CSC Academic All-District® teams require players to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA as both a undergraduate and graduate student, as well as meet minimum standards for competition. Eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches. Liberos, although not counted in stats as a starter, may be counted as such for nominating purposes. 

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.

Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists, denoted with an asterisk*, advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 9, 2026.

The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II Academic All-America® programs.
