RICHMOND, Va. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Spring 2026 Scholar All-America list for individuals and teams. Two Barry Buccaneer men's swimmers were recognized individually, while both the men's and women's teams were listed on the Spring Team Scholar All-America.
In order for an individual to qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, they must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship. As a team, the program is required to achieve a GPA of 3.00 or higher during the Spring semester.
On the individual side, Teo Puig and Wiktor Wisniewski both earned CSCAA First-Team Scholar All-America honors after qualifying for and competing at the NCAA Division II National Championship. Both Bucs also earned All-America honors at the championship.
Puig highlighted the list after a historic freshman season for the Buccaneers. The Sorgues, France native qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship and was named a Second-Team All-American after finishing 15th with a time of 9:08.28 in the 1000-free and ninth in the 1650-free with a time of 15:17.41. At the Sunshine State Conference Championship, Puig finished second in the 1650 free while setting a new school record. Despite only competing in the spring semester, Puig set three school records in the 500 free, 1000 free and 1650 free.
Wisniewski also made an immediate impact for the Bucs in his freshman campaign. The Jaworzno, Poland native qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship earned Second-Team All-America recognition in the 200-breaststroke after finishing 16th with a time of 2:00.68, which marked the fourth-fastest time in program history.
As a program, the women's team posted a 3.36 GPA while the men's team accumulated a 3.55 GPA for the Spring term, surpassing the qualification standard. The men's team was ranked 11th among the 50 schools in Division II that were recognized for the award. This marks another strong academic showing for the Buccaneer swimming programs as both teams earned Spring Team Scholar All-America recognition.
