ORLANDO, Fla. – Women's Tennis earned its third weekly honor of the year from the Sunshine State Conference, as No. 6 ranked Dana Heimen was named SSC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, this award is presented by Pollo Campero, for the week of March 2–8 and is awarded to her following her strong performances against Davenport University, Temple University, and Embry-Riddle.
Against Davenport, Heimen and her doubles partner, Jenifer Anger, made quick work of their opponents with a 6–2 victory. Heimen then continued her strong play in singles, defeating her opponent 6–1, 6–3.The Bucs then faced Temple, where Heimen was the first Barry player to finish her singles match, allowing only three points throughout the entire match.The final match of the week came in conference play against No. 9 Embry-Riddle. Heimen once again teamed up with Anger in doubles to secure a 6–4 win. In singles, the German senior clinched the match for the Bucs with a 6–1, 6–3 victory. Heimen is on a three match win streak and has won six of her last eight singles matches. In doubles Heimen and Anger are on a four match win streak and have won four of their five matches.
The Bucs will be back in action Friday, Mar.13th, when they will play Catawba College in West Palm Beach, Fla., at Rinker Athletic Campus.
