Four Buccaneers Named To Women's Tennis Academic All-District Team

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers placed four on the Women's Tennis Academic All-District team this season.  Jenifer Anger, Ailen Crespo, Dana Heimen and Anastasia Nkolova were all recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom. The quartet led the Bucs to the ITA Indoor Championship and the regular season and tournament titles in the Sunshine State Conference.

Anger*, a sophomore from Saint Thibery, France, holds a 3.93 GPA in sport management. She was named to the First-Team All-SSC in doubles. She went 13-3 in singles this year, including 8-2 at number six. She was 13-3 as well in doubles, including 12-2 partnered with Heimen.

Crespo*, a senior graduate student pursuing her MBA, holds a 4.0 GPA. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native was a First-Team All-SSC doubles pick and Second-Team singles. She posted a 9-5 singles record this spring, and went 15-3 in doubles, all with Partner Luanne Lutringer. The pair is ranked 16th by the ITA.

Heimen*, another senior graduate student pursuing an MBA, has a 3.78 GPA. A native of Ketsch, Germany, she was named to the First-Team All-SSC in both singles and doubles. In singles, she went 11-5 this spring, after advancing to the ITA Cup finals in both singles and with partner Nikolova in doubles. In the spring in doubles, she went 16-2, including 12-2 with Anger. She was named the ITA South Region Senior Player of the Year. She is currently ranked 

Nikolova*, a junior finance major from Varna, Bulgaria, has a 3.62 GPA. She was named to the Second-Team All-SSC doubles with partner Viktoriia Dema. They went 15-1 in the spring, mostly at number three. Overall in the spring she was 17-3 in doubles and 7-2 in singles. 

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

The CSC Academic All-District® teams require players to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA as both a undergraduate and graduate student, as well as must be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's days of competition.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.

Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists, denoted with an asterisk*, advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 3, 2026.

The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II Academic All-America® programs.
