MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barry University men's lacrosse team has brought in 11 defensive freshmen onto the roster for the 2027 season. Five will be playing a mix of defense down low standing stout protecting the goal as long pole defenders while also playing higher up on the field as long-stick midfielders. Four players will be specified as long pole defenders along with one addition of a defensive midfielder to the unit as well as one long-stick midfielder. This group of Buccaneers establishes itself as the second biggest group of recruits right next to the offensive transfers that had a total of 15 players.

"We love the mentality of this defensive class. They come in with something to prove, and that competitive mindset is exactly what we're looking for," Head coach Alex Williams had more to elaborate on with this group. "Their blue-collar hard-working mentality is infectious and adds a strong level of competition in everything we do!"
