BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers men's golf team leads the way after round one at the 42nd Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Championships after carding 275 (-13) at Osprey Point on Sunday afternoon. 

NOTEWORTHY:

• Albin Ekvall and Miikka Makinen are both tied for first place among all golfers after carding 7-under. 
• The Bucs have a chance to win their third-straight SSC Championship. They would become the first team to win three in a row since Florida Southern won five in a row from 1997-2001. 
• Barry also looks to have their third consecutive champion (AJ Ewart and Nicolas Quintero). They would be the first school to three-peat individual winners since Florida Southern from 1997-1999. 
• Ekvall and Makinen (-7) tied the second best to-par scores for a single round in SSC tournament history. AJ Ewart has the SSC record at -8 in a single round (2022 & 2023). 
• The Bucs team to-par score of -13 tied them for the 5th best round for a team in SSC Championship history.
