VALDOSTA, Ga. -- The 2026 First Federal Southeastern Collegiate featured 12 of 16 teams ranked in the latest GolfStat rankings, 10 of which are in the top-25. In the proven tough field, 20th-ranked Barry men's golf team finished fourth, placing higher than five teams ranked above the Bucs. Eduardo Matarazzo led the way with a runner-up finish at 12-under with rounds of 65-67-72. The Buccaneers finished behind third-ranked West Florida, 11th-ranked Columbus State, and just one stroke behind 21st-ranked Lincoln Memorial.
The event was hosted by Valdosta State at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Course.
BUCCANEER HIGHLIGHTS:
Eduardo Matarrazo (-12) (67-65-72--204) T-2nd Place
- Was the only Buccaneer to finish under par
- Third top-10 finish, second top-2 finish this year
- A stroke over his career-high for his second lowest score
- Third career round of 65, seventh overall under par.
- Led the team in Par-4 (-7) and Par-5 (-7) scoring
- Led the 88-player field in Par-4 scoring.
- Second in birdies with 19 and tied for 10th with just five bogeys.
- 48 of 54 holes at par or better
Giorgio Celani (E) (70-70-76--216) 28th Place
- Finished under par (-5) in Par-5 scoring.
- Only Buccaneer to record an eagle at the tournament.
- Best round was round two where he had three birdies and finished three under
- Totaled 37 pars and eight birdies at the end of the tournament
Ethan Fichardt (+1) (75-71-71--217) T-34th Place
- Tied for second in the tournament for Par-3 scoring (-1).
- One of three Bucs to finish with an eagle
- The back nine of round three was his best round, with Matarazzo having 3 birdies and finishing -3
- Totaled 32 pars and 11 birdies
Daniel Vanososte (+1) (76-67-74--217) T-34th Place
- Tied for sixth in Par-4 scoring (-3)
- One of three Bucs to finish with an eagle
- Best round was round two, where he had six birdies and finished three under
- Totaled 32 pars and 11 birdies
Ismael Garcia (+7) (75-76-72--223) 57th Place
- Moved up 24 spots in. the final round after shooting even.
- Best round was on the back nine of round two, where he had three birdies
- Totaled 28 pars and 10 birdies for the tournament
