ORLANDO -- Barry University freshman golfer Eduardo Matarazzo was named the Sunshine State Conference men's golfer of the week for March 9-15. The award, which is presented by Pollo Compero, is the second of the season for him.

The rookie from São Paulo, Brazil, fired a -12 (67-65-72--204) at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate, hosted by Valdosta State, to tie for second-place. It was his second top-five finish this year and the first this spring. His 65 in the second round ties his low round of the season, which he did twice at the Citrus Invitational back in October. He led the team in Par-4 (-7) and Par-5 (-7) scoring. He shot 48 of 54 holes at par or better.

Matarazzo is currently ranked seventh nationally.

The Bucs go to the Shark Invitational at Grand Oaks GC in Davie, Fla., next week.
