LAKELAND, Fla. -- Alina Michalitsch defeated teammate Andrea Di Palma to with the  ITA South Regional Championships at the Wynee Warden Tennis Complex in Lakeland, Fla., on Wednesday in an all-Barry final.

SINGLES:

Fifth-seeded Michalitsch turned in a 6-3, 6-0 win over fourth-seeded Di Palma in the championship match. She is the fourth Buccaneer to win the singles title. Deniz Khazan won back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022, Sonja Larsen took the title in 2017 and Conny Grunes won in 2003. Khazan and Larsen both went on to win the ITA Cup Championship.

Michalitsch earns an automatic bid to the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga., starting Oct. 10. 

DOUBLES:

The doubles team of Andrea Di Palma and Viktoriia Dema fell 8-6 to Valdosta State's Isabella Ciancaglini and Kristyna Hranacova in Semifinals after the match was postponed due to weather on Tuesday.
