LAKELAND, Fla. -- Buccaneer women's tennis players Angela Leweurs, Alina Michalitsch, Viktoriia Dema and Andrea Di Palma all traveled to Lakeland, Fla., to compete in the ITA South Regional Championships at the Wynee Warden Tennis Complex.

SINGLES:

Ninth ranked, Angela Leweurs was defeated by Andrea Di Palma, the fourth ranked player in the event, in the Semifinals. The game ended in a score of 6-2, and 6-1, Andrea Di Palma now advances to the finals to face Alina Michalitsch, the Finals will end between the two Bucs.

Alina Michalitsch defeated Ashleigh Simes with a score of 6-2, and 6-3 in the Semifinals, Alina faces her teammate and fellow competitor, DiPalma in the Finals.

DOUBLES:

The doubles team of Andrea Di Palma and Viktoriia Dema will face Valdosta State's Isabella Ciancaglini and Kristyna Hranacova in Semifinals tomorrow on Oct. 2, as the match today was cpostponed due to rain.

The doubles team of Alloiarova/Tatarnikova lost in an intense match against West Alabama's Valentina Mutilba/Shaira Rivera in the Semifinals in a tiebreaker, with a final score of 8-7(5).
