MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Barry Buccaneers are peaking at the right time as they head into the South Super Regional at Rollins this weekend. The Bucs have won eight straight, including a Sunshine State Conference series sweep at Florida Southern, just the second sweep in Lakeland ever for Barry baseball, and three wins over nationally ranked foes #15 Montevallo and #7 host West Florida in the South Region 2 Tournament.
The Bucs, who jumped up in the national poll to #20, will face the winners of the South Region 1 Tournament, the fifth-ranked Rollins Tars, in the best-of-three Super Regional at Alfond Stadium. Game one is set for Friday, May 26 at 5:00 pm. On Saturday, the teams play game two at 2:00 pm, with the if-necessary game to follow right after.

NOTEWORTHY:
- For the Bucs, this is their fourth NCAA bid (1998, 2009, 2011) and just their second at-large bid.
- The regional championship was the first for Barry, after finishing runner up in 1998 and 2011.
- Barry improved 14 games in the regular season over last season, going 32-17 after 18-31 in 2022.
- This season marks just the second that NCAA Division II has employed a Super Regional format for the baseball championship. Last season, Rollins beat Tampa 2-0 to advance to the World Series.
- Barry trails the all-time series to the Tars 65-50, including 41-21 in Winter Park. The Tars, who swept the Bucs during the regular season, have won seven of the last nine games.
