ORLANDO, Fla.-- The tenth-ranked Barry Buccaneers men's golf team finished up play at the Citrus Intercollegiate, placing second to finish up the 2023 Fall season. The Bucs finished the Fall strong, recording their highest finish by carding a -6 (287-286-285--858). Barry fell by just one stroke to tournament champions, Nova Southeastern.
BUCCANEER HIGHLIGHTS:
Miikka Makinen (-3) (72-71-70--213) T-7th Place
- One of two Bucs to finish In the top-ten.
- E on par-4 holes.
- Led all golfers in par-5 scoring at -7.
- Recorded 37 pars and seven birdies.
- One of six players to record an eagle, only golfer to record two.
JP Ducruet (-1) (71-72-72--215) T-10th Place
- One of two Bucs to finish in the top-ten.
- Led Barry in par-4 scoring (-1).
- Carded -3 in par-5 scoring, tied for fifth among entire field.
- Totaled 37 pars and nine birdies.
Tomy Jaunet (E) (70-73-73--216) 13th Place
- Carded -3 on par-5 holes.
- Recorded 38 pars which led team, along with eight birdies.
Amani D'Ambrosio (+1) (76-70-71--217) T-14th Place
- Led Bucs in par-3 scoring (E), tied for third among all golfers.
- Carded -3 on par-5 holes.
- Totaled one eagle, one of six golfers to record one.
Albin Ekvall (+4) (74-74-72--220) T-28th Place
- Totaled 29 pars and eleven birdies.
Hugo Aguilar (+10) (81-70-75--226) T-48th Place
- Totaled 27 pars and eleven birdies.

RESULTS
NOTEWORTHY:
- Bucs recorded highest finish of the 2023 campaign.
- Tied for first among all teams in par-3 scoring (+9).
- Led all teams in par-5 scoring (-18).
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"It was a challenging Fall," said coach Velez. "After losing four guys like we did, who had played nearly every tournament for two years, we needed to find out who would step up. I think we really found that out this Fall and I am excited for the Spring."
