San Diego, Calif. -- Deniz Khazan advanced to the round of 16 in the women's singles bracket at the ITA National Fall Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
The ITA Fall National Championships are the grand finale of the fall collegiate tennis season and features 64 of the nation's top collegiate singles players (32 men and 32 women) and also 64 doubles team (32 men's teams and 32 women's teams).
Khazan was the lone Division II player in the women's singles bracket and picked up the first win for Barry ever at the D-1 tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Khazan defeated Anastasiya Komar (Louisiana State University) 6-4, 6-1. Khazan will play Carson Tanguilig (UNC Chapel Hill) next in the round of 16 tomorrow Nov. 3. The time and court are TBA.
