MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Eric Hutting has resigned as assistant baseball coach at Barry University, director of athletic Michael L. Covone announced.

Hutting, who helped lead the Bucs to a 14-11 mark this past year, including a 12-8 mark in the Sunshine State Conference to finish in third place, is leaving for Loyola-Marymont as an assistant coach.

Hutting was the assistant coach at Cal State San Marcos in 2020, during the abbreviated spring season, and also served at Regis University in Denver, Colo., and at several junior colleges in California.

A four-year catcher at Long Beach State, Hutting started 140 games behind the plate for the Dirtbags and threw out 39 percent of would-be base stealers. He helped LBSU make NCAA Regional appearances in 2014 and 2016. He graduated from LBSU with a bachelor's degree in communication studies in 2016 and went on to earn his master's degree in physical education from Azusa Pacific in 2017.

Barry will begin an immediate search for his replacement.
