Avi Kigel has announced the team's 2021 schedule. The Buccaneers' regular season schedule includes nine regular season matches including five matches at the Buccaneer Tennis Center in #TheShores.
FULL SCHEDULE
The Bucs return a very strong roster from last year's team that went undefeated and won the ITA Division II Indoor Championship before the season was cut short due to the CoVID-19 pandemic. The Buccaneers return three top-50 players with #5 Jil Engelmann, #41 Julie Razafindranaly, #49 Daniela Farfan. In addition, Xiyao Wang was a perfect 5-0 in singles and 8-1 in doubles. Patricia Lopez and Mariia Skyba combined to go 15-2 at the lower flights.
In addition, the Bucs welcome a host of talented newcomers, including Kim Moosbacher and Adriana Lamothe. Moosbacher was named in the 2020 ITA National Senior Player of the year and a member of the ITA All-American team. Lamothe is a Barry legacy. Her uncle, Laurent Lamothe, was the first Buc to ever become an All-American in tennis. and also served as the prime minister of Haiti from 2012-14.
NOTE: With the health and safety of student-athletes, coaches and staff in mind, there will be no fans permitted at BarryU tennis matches this season.
In their return to play, the Buccaneers will adhere to all health & safety protocols required by the CDC, the NCAA, the Sunshine State Conference and Miami-Dade County. Included in those protocols are:
- Daily symptom checks for all student-athletes, coaches and support staff
- Teams and officials will be reminded to follow personal health guidelines (e.g. wash hands frequently for 20 seconds, do not touch your face, use hand sanitizer, and maintain physical distance)
- Personnel will be tested in accordance with the three-tier policy as specified by the NCAA

ABOUT BARRYU WOMEN'S TENNIS
Barry has been one of the the top teams in NCAA Division II over the last 30+ years. The Bucs have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 28 times, including making the finals seven times. They have won the national championship five times including three-in-a-row and counting (2011, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019). They have had 56 ITA All-Americans and 90 All-SSC players including SSC Players of the Year Barbi Pocza (2011, 2010), Greta Trotman (2005), Gizella Turbok (2002) and Jennifer Araldi (1998).
