MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Jimmy Correnti has resigned as assistant coach with the Barry University baseball program, director of athletics Michael L. Covone announced today.

With the Buccaneers, Correnti was tasked with infield and defensive positioning, while also coaching the hitters and serving as the recruiting coordinator.

Correnti helped lead the Bucs to a 68-49 record in his three seasons as the full-time assistant coach. This season, the Bucs were off to one of the best starts in program history, winning nine straight to start the season and finishing 17-4 when the season was canceled. The Bucs batted over .300 each of the last two seasons, leading the Sunshine State Conference in 2019 when they had four of the top six hitters in the league.

Correnti is resigning to explore other business opportunities.

He played his college ball at Florida Southern College from 2011-14. He helped lead the Mocs to the regional finals in 2014.

He earned his bachelor's degree from FSC in 2014 in business administration-sports management with a minor in physical education with an emphasis in coaching.
