MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – At the conclusion of the 2019 spring semester, all 12 of the Barry University varsity athletic teams posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. *
After the spring term, 11/12 of BarryU's athletic teams recorded a GPA over 3.0 during the spring semester. The BarryU tennis teams each brought home national championships in 2019, but also excelled in the classroom, with the men having the highest GPA among all male teams and the women's team doing the same among the female teams. The women topped the charts for both term GPA (3.750) and cume GPA (3.755). With the men leading the way with a 3.473 term GPA and a 3.386 cumulative GPA.
- 122/228 student-athletes were named to the president's, dean's or athletic director's list in the spring term, earning at least a 3.2 GPA in the spring semester.
- At the conclusion of the spring semester, 71.4 percent (162/228) of the student-athletes posted cumulative GPAs above 3.0 this past academic year.
- 57 percent of BarryU student-athletes recorded a GPA of 3.3 or higher in the 2019 spring semester
- The entire athletic department averaged a 3.2 in the spring term.
*Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) refers to the overall GPA of every member on the team during their time as a student at Barry University.
