MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The 20th-ranked Barry Buccaneers host the top-ranked Tampa Spartans this weekend at Feinbloom Field in a three-game Sunshine State Conference baseball series.
The Bucs are 19-5, 9-3 SSC on the season, having won 17 of their last 19 games. The Spartans are 20-6 overall and 6-3 in the SSC, winning 11 of their last 13. The Spartans are ranked first in the Collegiate Baseball poll while the Bucs clock in at 20th, setting up a highly influential matchup this season.
Both teams are coming in off losses, however. The Bucs fell 7-4 in 10 innings at Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday, while the Spartans fell 8-3 to the Valdosta State Blazers at home.
