DELAND, Fla. -- Barry University's women's tennis team opened the fall season at the Stetson University Hatter Invitational. The Bucs posted excellent results on Friday, but the second day of the invitational didn't go as planned with the Bucs only winning one match.

THE MATCHUPS

On Saturday, Barry went up against Stetson in a doubles match and went head-to-head with Florida Gulf Coast University in six flights. 

SUMMARY:

• The Buccaneers kicked off the day against Stetson in three doubles matches.
  • Barry fell to Stetson in the first two matches, though Carolin Schmidt and Zuza Maciejewska did battle Lucy Renault and Danel Ashirova to a 13th Set.
  • The Bucs rallied with Julie Razafindranaly and Hannah Seizer defeating Danielle Peele and Alexe Viaud in a 7-5 Victory
• Singles did not go as well though as the Bucs were swept in all six flights vs. FGCU
  • Elenore Berrere amd Hannah Seizer were both able to push their respective games to an extra set.

ON THE HORIZON:

Barry's next tournament is the ITA Regional in Lakeland, Fla. starting on September 21st.
