Box Score BRADENTON, Fla. -- Barry University's top-ranked women's tennis team beat No. 27 Florida Tech, 5-0, in the Sunshine State Conference quarterfinals at IMG Academy Thursday.
Second-ranked Sonja Larsen sealed the deal at No. 3 singles after Julie Razafindranaly gave Barry a 4-Love lead with her No. 5 singles victory. The Buccaneers swept doubles for the 17th time this season.

- Fourth-ranked Verena Schmid and Larsen cruised to an 8-1 win over Mariana Castaneiras and Erin Egoroff at No. 1.
- Forty ninth-ranked Zuza Maciejewska and Carolin Schmidt won the by the same score over Lauren Stuckey and Maria Chun at No. 3. That made it 2-0.
- Forty fifth-ranked Hannah Seizer and Razafindranaly finished off the sweep with an 8-3 win over Kayla Hergott and Caroline Walter at the No. 2 spot.
SINGLES:
- Razafindranaly rolled past Castaneiras, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 5 to move Barry within a point of clinching.
- Second-ranked Larsen beat Egoroff, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 3 for the fifth clinching point.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Razafindranaly and Larsen both won their 18th singles matches of the season.
- Barry improved to 59-3 in doubles.
- The Bucs are 10-0 against nationally-ranked teams.
- The Buccaneers are 3-0 on neutral courts.
