TAMPA, Fla. -- Barry University's women's tennis team kept pace in the front of the pack in the Sunshine State Conference after beating host Tampa, 8-1, Saturday.
The No. 3-ranked Buccaneers remained perfect at the No. 3 doubles, and the Nos. 4 and 5 singles positions this season. Barry swept the Nos. 1 and 3 doubles matches, and its three ranked singles players at the top of the lineup,
Zuza Maciejewska,
Isabel Rapisarda Calvo and
Sonja Larsen, all won in straight sets.

- Dasha Salnikova returned to the lineup after a two-week layoff, pairing up with Rapisarda Calvo for an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
- Maciejewska and Verena Schmid also won by an 8-Love score, beating Caroline Lozo and Emily Hewland at the No. 1 position. Barry's 18th-ranked Ana Pain and Larsen won 8-4 over Lilley Nice and Maddie Stephens at No. 2 doubles.
- Maciejewska, ranked No. 7 in singles, was a 6-4, 6-4 winner over Lozo at the top position.
- Rapisarda Calvo, who owns the No. 31 singles ranking, rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Hewland at No. 2.
- Ranked 16th, Larsen defeated Nice, 6-1, 6-3.
- Schmid beat Stephens, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 4.
- Karina Goia defeated Ava Sowell, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 5.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Salnikova was paired with Rapisarda Calvo for the first time this season.
- Larsen moved within one victory of her 50th in her third season as a Buccaneer. She is tied for 15th on the school's all-time singles victories list.
- Maciejewska now is ranked No. 1 in school history in career doubles winning percentage at .919. She is 31-3 in pairs play in her two seasons as a Buccaneer.
