MIAMI, Fla. -- The No. 1-ranked Barry University women's tennis team battled No. 7 Mississippi College in the final of the NCAA South One Regional, falling 4-3 in a hard-fought matchup to bring the Spring 2026 season to a close.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Barry was the first to put a point on the board after winning in both the top and bottom flight for doubles.
- Mississippi responded quickly in singles play, as Stockett defeated Anger on court six in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, to even the match.
- The Bucs regained the advantage on court three, where Dema earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Weber.
- The Choctaws answered once again on court one, with Buchanan defeating Crespo in a hard-fought three-set battle, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, tying the match once more.
- On court two, Martinez gave Mississippi College its first lead of the day after defeating Heimen in another three-set thriller, 7-6(8), 2-6, 6-4, putting the Choctaws one point away from clinching the match.
- Barry refused to back down, however, as Michalitsch leveled the score yet again on court four with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 victory over Hudson.
- With the match tied, the deciding point came down to court five, where Wyk and Lutringer battled through the final three-set match of the day. Wyk ultimately came out on top with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win to clinch the match for Mississippi College.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Michalitsch closes out the season with a perfect 15-0 record in singles.
- Dema also finishes the season with a 15-0 record in singles.
- In doubles, the duo of Nikolova and Dema went 15-1 this season.
