Base Knocks:

  • STAFF IT OUT: The Bucs have used five pitchers on the season, the most since five pitched in 2009. Junior Christie Falcon has been the busiest, logging a team-high 45.1 innings in 10 appearances.
  • SENIOR LEADERSHIP: Seniors Cheyanne Head and Jasmine Harris have been two of the most productive hitters this season. Harris tops the squad with a .500 average, three homers, five doubles and 11 RBI. Head chips in a .357 average and team-best 10 stolen bases.
  • SMALL BALL: The Bucs have stolen 24 bases in 14 games. Led by Head's 10, they also have gotten six from Alayna Gallagher and three from Hunter Mars. Gallagher also has a team-high six sacrifices, while Peyton Rawls has three.
  • BARRY POWER: In the early part of the season, the Bucs are tied for first in the lead with eight homers, though in five fewer games than the Saint Leo Lions. In addition to the three by Harris, Madison VonHagel has two, and Kristina Osorio, Avery Cotterill, and Rawls each have one.
  • ALL THINGS NEW: Three of the Bucs' four opponents this weekend are first-time foes. Though Barry had 10 games against the host Cougars, Auburn-Montgomery, Coker and Catawba are on the schedule for the first time.
