ERAU GAME NOTES
MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 5-ranked men's basketball team will host Embry-Riddle at 4 p.m. Saturday following the women's game in the Health & Sports Center.
ERAU (9-5) is a provisional Sunshine State Conference member, whose record does not count for league purposes. The Eagles did not play in the mid-week game Wednesday. The Buccaneers (13-1) are coming off a win over Palm Beach Atlantic, another SSC provisional member, earlier in the week.Â
This game features two of the top point guards in the country in Barry's
Elvar Fridriksson and Embry-Riddles Dalton Barnes. Fridriksson ranks fourth in the nation in assists at 8.4 per game. Barnes' stats (7.1 apg) are not counted by the NCAA this season for rankings purposes.
It also features two veteran coaches in Barry's
Butch Estes, who, in his 30th season as a head coach, has 527 wins. Embry-Riddle's Steve Ridder has 665 victories in 28 years, many of which were at the NAIA level.
